Bringing riders together through appreciation and dialogue

PENANG, MALAYSIA - Media OutReach Newswire - 3 August 2026 - ShopeeFood Malaysia hosted a series of rider engagement initiatives across Penang Island and Seberang Perai to recognise the contributions of its delivery partners and strengthen community ties within the local food delivery ecosystem. 

Held over two days, the initiatives brought together top-performing delivery partners, long-serving riders and local merchant partners through a range of activities centred on appreciation, engagement and support.

As part of the programme, ShopeeFood hosted an Elite Rider Appreciation Event at the Penang Harmony Centre in George Town, where 46 long-serving delivery partners were recognised for their dedication and contributions to the platform. The event gave riders an opportunity to take a break from the road, connect with fellow delivery partners over a shared meal, and participate in networking activities and lucky draws in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

The programme also featured a rider sharing and feedback session, providing delivery partners with a platform to share their experiences, operational challenges and suggestions for improvement.

Beyond the appreciation event, ShopeeFood also supported riders through the distribution of delivery bags at dedicated collection points across Penang Island and Seberang Perai, helping delivery partners stay equipped while carrying out their daily deliveries.

As part of its wider rider engagement efforts, ShopeeFood teams also met riders during their delivery rounds across the state. Selected delivery partners received surprise rewards, including gold bars, grocery vouchers and packed meals, as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication and contributions to the community.
