Spackman Entertainment Group Limited (the "
Group"),
one of Korea's leading entertainment production groups founded in 2011
by media & technology investor Charles Spackman, wishes to announce
that Son Suk-ku of the Group's associated company, Spackman Media Group
Limited ("
Spackman Media Group"), took the top spot in the brand
reputation among all celebrities in Korea for the month of June 2022,
according to the Korea Corporation Reputation Research Institute ("
KCRRI").
The result was based on KCRRI's brand reputation index of Korean actors
created through big data analysis that studies stars' influence on
consumers' online consumption and habits. It measures consumers'
reception, media interest and online traffic to calculate a branding
score for Korean celebrities, companies, and products. Director Gu
Chang-hwan of KCRRI said, "the Son Suk-ku brand attracted explosive
interest due to the simultaneous box office success of the drama and the
movie."
According to data from the Korean Film Council, Spackman Media Group artist Son Suk-ku's latest film,
THE ROUNDUP, a sequel to
THE OUTLAWS, surpassed 12 million in ticket admissions and posted
nearly US$97 million in total revenues at the Korean box office as of
June 29, 2022. The film, which was released on May 18, 2022, achieved
the record for the most weekends atop the Korean box office among movies
released this year, and was pre-sold to 132 countries around the world,
including Singapore, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and France, as
well as the regions of North America and Eastern Europe.
Looking ahead, Son Suk-ku is set to star in a new Disney+ original K-drama,
CASINO, and two upcoming highly anticipated Netflix original K-dramas,
D.P. Season 2 and
MURDEROUS TOY.
Featuring Son Suk-ku,
CASINO, which shall air worldwide exclusively on Disney+ in the
second half of 2022, will be helmed by Kang Yoon Sung, the director of
the 2017 box office hit
THE OUTLAWS, and produced by BA Entertainment, C-Jes
Entertainment and Arc Media. The 8-episode K-drama, which is also
headlined by Choi Min Shik, Heo Sung Tae, Kim Joo Ryung, Lee Dong Hwi
and Jo Jae Yoon, relates the eventful life of a man who gains success
through the casino industry.
Based on the webtoon
D.P DOG DAY by Kim Bo-tong,
D.P. Season 2 starring Son Suk-ku, tells the story of a team of
Korean military police with their mission to catch deserters. The series
is directed by Han Jun-hee and co-written by Kim Bo-tong. The K-drama
is expected to be released in late 2022 or early 2023.
Produced by Showbox,
MURDEROUS TOY headlines Son Suk-ku and Choi Woo-shik of the film
PARASITE (2019). The Netflix K-drama is based on the popular
webtoon series of the same name and is scheduled for release in the
second half of this year.
Son Suk-ku is represented by SBD Entertainment Inc. ("
SBD Entertainment"),
a wholly-owned subsidiary of Spackman Media Group that represents and
manages the careers of 13 artists. In addition to Son Suk-ku, SBD
Entertainment also represents one of Korea's rapidly rising young
