– 8 May 2026 - As families continue to manage day-to-day cost
pressures, the recent disbursement of Child LifeSG Credits (CLC) and
Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC) has provided timely support to help
defray household expenses. Shopee is observing how households are using
these credits across their everyday spending, with many choosing to top
up their ShopeePay wallets to extend their value.
Families can use their CLC or LFLC to top up ShopeePay, and upon topping
up at least S$100, unlock up to S$100 in additional value through
ShopeePay vouchers from now till 31 May 2026. These can be used across
everyday purchases such as groceries, household supplies, and online
essentials, giving families more ways to stretch their spending across
both immediate and planned needs.
Within the first week of disbursement, eligible users have topped up their ShopeePay wallets and
unlocked over S$150K in additional value through vouchers. Users
are already putting their credits towards practical, everyday purchases,
with many grouping transactions around in-store voucher thresholds such
as
S$25 off S$250 / S$40 off S$450, enabling fuller use of
available savings. With merchants across everyday categories on Shopee,
users can apply their credits within a single platform instead of across
multiple shopping channels.
Essential categories account for a significant share of purchases, with
almost 50% of Shopee orders going towards groceries, baby products, and household items, and
nearly 80% of in-store vouchers used at physical locations such
as hawker stalls and supermarkets, reflecting how families are using the
credits on day-to-day necessities.
The value of the top-up extends across both online and in-store use. With ShopeePay accepted at more
than 50,000 merchants, including supermarkets, department stores,
and neighbourhood merchants, families can further apply their savings
across different parts of their daily routines.
"We know that every dollar counts when running a household and families
are actively looking for ways to make their household budgets go
further," said
Chua Kel Jin, Director of Shopee Singapore. "By enabling users to
top up their LifeSG credits into ShopeePay and access additional
savings, we hope to make it easier and more convenient for families to
plan and manage their everyday expenses across both online and offline
needs."
Shopee continues to support Singaporeans in extending the value of their
everyday spending, particularly across essential purchases.
